Bungalows, Boats, and Bikes in Tam Cốc

After the sleeper train back to Hanoi, we took a mini-bus to another UNESCO World Heritage site called Tam Cốc in Ninh Binh province. It’s famous for it’s limestone scenery and the rowing boat trips along the river and through caves.

We checked into some lovely bungalows around a pool.

Power cut meant candles and head-torches during dinner

We hired bikes from the hotel to get to the boat trip. Cycling is one of Michelle’s favourite pastimes.

Scenery compensating for cycling

The boat trip took us through nine caves. Michelle just loves caves, but survived. Cycling and caves – that’s two of her favourite things in one trip!

Do I look fat in this?

Going in. You have to duck for this one.

At least the caves were lit

Getting lower

Ahh. The exit.

Jurassic park. I’m sure we heard a Terror-dactyl.

We’re sadly leaving Vietnam tomorrow for Laos. First stop Luang Prabang.
