For this year’s big adventure, we are taking the caravan to Spain and Portugal for about six weeks. We have a return ferry trip from Portsmouth to Santander, and the only other thing we have booked is the first three nights in a campsite just west of Santander.

All packed up and ready for the adventure.
We had an overnight stop on our way to visit Donna’s sister in Devon. Michelle’s mother joined us at Donna’s. We spent four nights with Donna at her new house in East Devon, and visited the nearby coastal towns before catching the ferry from Portsmouth to Santander.
First stop was Sidmouth…

Next was Totnes…

After Totnes we visited Dartmouth.

Ronnie couldn’t resist visiting the coastal town of “Beer”.

… and having a beer in the “Barrel of Beer” pub in Beer.
Next was Lyme Regis on the “Jurassic coast”, famous for the fossils that can be found there.

A heroine of Lyme Regis is Mary Anning, who was a fossil pioneer. She discovered many fossils around Lyme Regis including the first Ichthyosaur and Plesiosaur skeletons.

Finally it was time to catch the ferry to Santander.
