Final group dinner poem

Min-Yon-Mar

A poem in the style of Purple Ronnie

In Yangon we met our guide called Min

Like all Myanmar people with a big grin

A land of Temples, some are Stupa

And always inside a statue of Buddha

Sometime seated also reclining

With gold leaf he’s always shining

At the temple everyone does heed

The ringing bell after a good deed

To Golden Rock on a Crazy truck

Hanging on we’d all shout oh **** dear

The cars with steering wheels on the wrong side

When overtaking your eyes you hide

In Mandalay we saw the biggest book

At 729 pages of marble we’d look

At Bagan the balloons we did see

And riding an e-Bike was scaree

At Mount Popa we had to mind our feet

‘cos hundreds of monkeys shit on the street

The Kalaw hike where everything does grow

Ploughed by a Chinese buffalo

At Inle lake on a boat

We saw gardens that do float

At the monastery the cats don’t jump

They lie around – the lazy lumps

Alan always talks at a great pace

Regardless of whether he has his case

Randy really likes his whiskey

But without Lula he can’t get frisky

Zach the ladies like his eyes

But then he buys that’s no surprise

Kevin the Minion with us does go

To get in every photo

Gary collects the glass for beer

To remind him that he was here

Sarah almost had a tear

When she jammed her fingers in the chair

Michelle has a drinking problem all the time

She can’t find a good Myanmar wine

For Ronnie protruding down below

It’s just the camera lens you know

Min he really cannot bear

If out of place is his hair

And now it’s time to say Ta-ta

And fly away very far

Cheers!
