We took a short, 30 minute flight over the mountains to Armenia in one of the Coffee regions. [That’s Armenia the town, not the country we visited a few months earlier!]
We then took an educational tour of a coffee plantation.
By law only Arabica beans can be grown in Columbia. Not “inferior” beans like Robusta.
The best quality beans were previously all exported and the locals used the inferior quality beans. This is now changing as the locals are seeing the difference good beans make.

Then we got kitted out to go and pick some beans ourselves before seeing the rest of the process.

After the bean-to-cup lesson, we then got dressed in some traditional costume for fun dancing.
