We visited Mount Nebo from where Moses looked out over the Jordan valley and saw the Promised Land. Moses is also said to have died there, but there is apparently no evidence for that.

From there we visited Madaba and saw the church with ornate mosaics.
Then we moved on to a craft workshop where they make mosaics from (mostly) the local stones.
Next stop was Kerak castle, a stronghold for a series of Crusaders.

We passed a number of butchers’ shops. Some had a peculiar way of enticing customers.
Next we headed for Little Petra. This would give a small taster of what was to come at “Big” Petra the next day.
They were setting up for a concert for the Royal Family. We didn’t get an invite.
