Quetzal spotting at Los Quetzales National Park

After Manuel Antonio, we spent a night in Dominical (another surfers’ town) on the way to yet another National Park – Los Quetzales. We stayed in an eco-lodge in the forest.

The next morning a guide picked us up to go Quetzal spotting. Being in Los Quetzales National Park, it would have been rude not to! We were very lucky that our guide tracked a pair down. Quetzals mate for life.

We got back to San José for the last night in Costa Rica before our flight to Guatemala the next morning. Being Valentine’s night, we splashed out on a romantic dinner in a posh restaurant.
